This weekend wasn't all fun and games. My grandfather Miller (who has been living here in Lincoln since last August) was admitted to the hospital on Friday. I would ask for your prayers for his peace, and that of my family.

My New Toy
Hey Everyone, for those who haven't met...
This is Ax.
Yes, I name my inanimate objects that run my life, for those of you who know me, this should come as no surprise!!!
DJ bought her last year (of course it is female... like I would let a male organize my life) for himself, but then got a smartphone and didn't need her. I found her recently, cleared the memory, charged her up and haven't been anywhere without her. This was an added benefit as Laptop is dying. (It's sad really. I will miss Laptop.)
Anyways, just wanted to share - say meet the fam, and all that jazz!!!

I'll Make A Man Out of You...
Maybe it's the Donny Osmond connection - totally unsure - but I have always loved this particular song from Disney's Repertoire, which is ironic, since I have girls. Of course, Mulan was a girl too. (To hear this particular song, left click on it once in the playlist to the right.)
Let's get down to business
To defeat the Huns
Did they send me daughters
When I asked for sons?
You're the saddest bunch
I ever met
But you can bet
Before we're through
Mister, I'll make a man out of you
Tranquil as a forest
But on fire within
Once you find your center
you are sure to win
You're a spineless, pale pathetic lot
And you haven't got a clue
Somehow I'll make a manout of you
I'm never gonna catchmy breath
Say good-bye to thosewho knew me
Boy, was I a fool in school for cutting gym
This guy's got 'em scared to death
Hope he doesn't see right through me
Now I really wish that I knew how to swim
(Be a man)We must be swift as the coursing river
(Be a man) With all the forceof a great typhoon
(Be a man) With all the strengthof a raging fire
Mysterious as the dark side of the moon
Time is racing toward us till the Huns arrive
Heed my every orderand you might survive
You're unsuited forthe rage of war
So pack up, go homeyou're through
How could I make a manout of you?
(Be a man) We must be swift asthe coursing river
(Be a man) With all the forceof a great typhoon
(Be a man) With all the strengthof a raging fire
Mysterious as the dark side of the moon
(Be a man) We must be swift asthe Coursing river
(Be a man) With all the forceof a great typhoon
(Be a man) With all the strength of a raging fire
Mysterious as the dark side of the moon
This morning, I really needed the song. I have been really down on myself this week, just grumpy about a lot of different things. But then I realized that I need to make a man out of me.
It just wasn't the little things that annoyed me, or the big things that festered, it was that I wasn't doing anything about any of it. I wan't moving to change anything, I wasn't composing myself and I wasn't using the strength I have been given to get through it.
What a wake up call. My anthem for the day!!

On Something....
Today we (DJ, Shannon, Hailey and Katie) were driving to dinner. I was navigating, and, in an effort to be funny, was making my voice sound like a GPS vocal prompter.
The girls thought it was hilarious and Katie says - Mom you sound like OnStar.
Then Hailey says - It's MomStar.
Where do they get this stuff???
In .1 miles turn right.
Turn right now.
In .05 miles turn left.
Turn left now.

Hey Wen... This one's for you...
(Pictures to be added later..)
The Perfect Cup (located just shy of 70th Street on O, where the HOOTERS used to be) is a drive-through pharmacy/coffee shop. Rumor had it that they also do sandwiches, so craving a sandwich, I drove over there today.
Incredible BLT, by the way, and nicely sized, a little on the pricey side, but worth it as the ingredients were fresh, the bread soft, and the bacon was crispy without being crunchy!!!
Add to it a Peach Citrus Fresca, and the world revolves around lunch!

Poisson d'Avril!!!
I love April Fools Day. There is nothing better than remembering to laugh. I also love to pranks. Playing them, and getting them played on me.
My favorite was as a teenager. My friend and I locked the bathroom stalls at girls camp in Alaska and put boots and pants by all the toilets. (We thought this was funny, those in line were not nearly as amused!!!!
When I was in high school, I took french, and we would stick pictures of fish on other people's backs (like Kick Me signs).
A few years ago, I worked at a daycare center. At a staff meeting, the receptionist said that she had not ever been pranked. (Like I am going to let that go... I had her convinced that there was a bat flying around the basement for a good ten minutes, then we took her outside and the kids told her Happy April Fool's Day. She laughed so hard, she almost cried!!!
So leave me comments, and tell me what your great pranks have been!!!
I haven't really pulled any pranks recently. I'll have to work on that!! Have a great day everyone!!!
